10 Guided Journaling Prompts for Shadow Work

 What makes you tick?

That’s a loaded question when you consider many people don’t know the answer to it. Most will point to external factors. Some may say it is other people. Still others may blame the world. Perhaps, some may even fault God. But those who are seeking the true answer will find it within themselves.

If you are looking to gain clarity and a deeper understanding of your emotions and patterns of behaviors, you must face what Carl Jung called your shadow.

By integrating the dark and light aspects of your psyche, you’ll achieve a profound sense of wholeness and develop a healthier relationship with yourself and others.

Here are 10 guided journaling prompts to help you to spot your triggers, develop a method to regulate your nervous system, and cultivate inner peace.

1)  List something you’d like to improve about yourself. How can you make the change in a constructive way?

2)  What is 1 negative thought pattern you want to release? How can you replace it with a positive outlook?

3)  In what ways are you choosing suffering over change?

4) What are you grateful for today?

5)   Write about a negative self-belief you hold. How can you challenge it?

6)  Describe a time you stepped outside your comfort zone. How did it help you grow?

7)  Describe a time you failed in something. How did the experience contribute to your growth?

8) Write about a time when you felt stuck in life. How did you break free?

9) What is your biggest fear?

10) What is one amazing thing about you?

Can you think of any other questions that you could ask yourself for self-reflection?

Until next time,

Keep Creating!
