A Book Coach can:

PLEASE NOTE: A Book Coach cannot guarantee that your book will be picked up by an agent, or traditional publisher, or become a New York Times bestseller. Beware of anyone promising you such lofty goals.

The sooner you hire a Book Coach the better, preferably before beginning the first draft of your book.

Many people start writing their books only to realize they are going around in circles and never quite reaching the end.

Or they may get stuck.

Or they may get overwhelmed and start doubting in their ability to finish the book.

Or even worse, they may finish their book and then submit it to an Editor, only to have it get rejected. If there are multiple rejections, that can lower the morale and cause great disappointment.

Consider this: If you were going to participate in the Olympics, would you sign up without the proper training? And if you needed training to bring out the best in you, wouldn't you seek the best coach you could find? Olympic participants pay good money to find the best coaches to train them. They consider the money they spend as an investment to realize their dream. They find their coaches early on to get the best training for the maximum amount of time to win the gold.

Becoming an author requires training too. A Book Coach can give you that personalized one-on-one training which will help you to succeed in achieving your dream that may be more difficult, confusing, and stressful to handle on your own.

Unlike classes and workshops that are a one-size-fits-all type of setting, most Book Coaches will work with you one-on-one and provide you with a tailored experience. As mentioned, most Book Coaches will have a set up to work with their clients individually, but it is important for you to check with your specific Book Coach on their approach.

Prices for working with a Book Coach vary depending on the project and the Book Coach you choose to work with. Factors may include: word count, what type of copy editing work you need, any deadlines, the duration of the project, and any other special requirements. Rates generally start at $2,000 USD per month or more. Again, each Book Coach has their own system and rates. Be sure to check with them to see what works best for your budget.

Simply put, a Book Coach can also be an Editor, but an Editor may not be necessarily a Book Coach. A Book Coach works with you from the beginning to the completion of the book. On the other hand, an Editor will come in after the first draft of the manuscript is complete.

It is best for writers and authors to hire their own professional copy editor to help guide them through the process of completing, polishing, and preparing their manuscript for submission. 

Often times, you only have 1 opportunity to submit your work to a publisher. It is imperative that you submit your best work from the start. 

The in-house editors working for traditional publishers expect a certain standard from writers when they receive submissions. They receive hundreds of submissions per day.  If your work falls short, it is most likely that it will be rejected. So, it is better to hire a professional copy editor to help you present your manuscript in its best format.
